It was this one--- WOLVERINE: ROAR Written by DUANE SWEIRZYNSKI Pencils & Cover by MIKE DEODATO A self-contained, double-sized one-shot written by Duane Swierzynski (Cable) and illustrated by Mike Deodato (Wolverine: Origins)! All Logan wanted was a place to stop for a cool drink and listen to absolutely nothing for a while. Well, at least he got his second wish. Because in Roamer, New Mexico (population 342, and falling fast) there’s a savage creature with revenge in its heart, and a roar that can blow out the eardrums of any living being within a mile...except for Logan, of course, whose regenerative abilities bring his hearing back after a minute. But “a minute” is not soon enough — not when you have zero sense of balance and there’s a bloodthirsty creature that you can’t hear coming. A creature that won’t stop until Roamer is wiped off the face of the earth. A creature who wants the last thing you hear to be the sound of your own screams... 48 PGS./Parental Advisory ...$3.99

I do wonder why they felt the need for all these one shots when most of them were mediocre at best. There was no new or interesting development in his character. I did like this one though, it was more like the older stories they used to write about him.

what is Marvel thinking?? This is exactly what they are thinking. Amazing Spider-Man works three times a month. Wolverine is one of our most popular characters. For a while His second string book (Origins) was out selling his main book, why not add a third book to the list. Three Wolverine books a month.

Overkill. It's not like the one shots have been all that great.

Right. Do away with all the one shots! I honestly wouldn't mind three montly wolverine books.. but we get WAY more than that now. Its too much and like squeek said, they haven't been very interesting.

OMG I think Hell is freezing over!!!! I just read Origins 29 and LOVED it!! It was by far the best book in the series! Logan killing ppl and not just punching them and letting them go because they were just doing there job.. and other crap like that. He was tearing people up. And the story with Xavier was awesome. I am liking this crossover a lot. Best Wolverine stuff I have read in a while.

Okay so I finally read this -- yeah I am a wee bit behind. Yes it is good that Logan gets to cut loose and be who he is. I also liked the point that Xavier made, that Logan couldn't exactly change who he was, but he could be directed, used as a weapon for a good cause. I just hope that Daken doesn't allow himself to become Shaw's weapon. I'd like to think he is much too independant for that.

Well I think the thing Logan is really the best at what he does is that he never gives up. His will power is his strongest weapon. That point was made very clear back in the Hama days. I like about it. So... does Daken have daddy's will power?
I am not really a Hellfire fan, but am happy some old school ppl are being brought back to the fore front. I think comics need that old school feel brought back.

I don't know the level of Daken's willpower. He is a very strong guy as far as his body goes, but we know so little about his mind. I don't know if his inner fortitude rivals his dad. We'll have to see. I just hope they don't make him lame or just another throw away character. I still like him because so much about him is still unknown.

I don't like how he was created really only to rival Wolverine. There are so many anti-wolverine characters out there. Sabretooth was the best of them, and Daken is really only a guy to fill that role now. I am sure they can make more out of him though. I hope they do. I would love it if they could make me like him.

Read the first issue of the Weapon X First Class. It was the Sabretooth issue. It was all right, but the majoirty of what was in it was recap of what we already know and to be quite honest, I am not quite sure at what point in Logan's life it takes place. Somewhere around Wolverine vol 2 #50 perhaps..... when the professor was first helping him get some of his memories back? It certainly isn't taking place in current continuity because Kitty is alive and at the mansion in her old black and yellow uniform. I think perhaps they are tying this in with Wolverine First Class which I am not reading. Just a guess.... Anyhoo.. for what it was it really wasn't bad.

Read the Chop Shop one shot that came out last week and it wasn't bad. Better than some of the other one shots they gave us lately.
