oh really?? cool.. I'll have to keep a look out for it then. Its about time though!!!
I agree that its not the same. I don't dislike it though because I actually started reading Ultimates at v3, so I its still a good book for me.
I did go back and read the first two volumes though and agree that they are totally different! If I started reading that and read them monthly for two years, I wouldn't be happy too.
I have to try and keep that in mind when reading the new Ultimate X-Men...I don't think these are bad stories or anything, but its hard to switch after years of something else.
Although the switch is really big this time around. When kirkman took over, I didn't notice a HUGE change, but this time I do. We'll see how it goes.

One of the things I love about Mark Millar is his pacing. Nothing ever felt rushed (and not just because the book was always late, lol). With Jeph, I feel like I'm missing something, that it's going too fast. Funny, I didn't get that with his work with Tim Sale, and not even with the Lupine arc in Wolverine. But I am feeling it here, and not liking it much.

I wonder if its intentional? Like its a fast paced thing leading up to Ultimatum?

I found Origins hard to follow and I wish they gave us the back issues they used so we could refer back to things. I can only hope that it will clear up in the next issues. So far, I don't care for it but that could change as we progress. I seriously don't like the pacing.

I was thinking of picking up Ultimates 3 but Ive read SO many bad reviews and comments that I figured it wasnt really worth it, I guess Ill just read a synopsis of it or something so that I have a little backstory of it for Ultimatum (which might be bad too since Loeb is writing it but I HAVE to read it since this is going to be big for the ultimate universe)

I don't know... I didn't find anything wrong with it. Like I said though, I didn't read the first two volumes first though, so thats probably why.

There's a big difference. Mar Millar made me love Iron Man and Thor when I couldn't give a hoot about them before Ultimates. So much of what went into the Iron Man movie was more of the result of Ultimate than anything else, I think. The first two volumes are so worth picking up, seriously. Maybe I will look back and appreciate Loeb's arc when it is done, for me it's just too jarring a transition. I hope of they ever do a volume 4, that they work on that a little.

Well if they do a 4th volume, and its Loeb, then it won't seem too much of a transition since he is doing 3. I know what you mean and agree that the first 2 are better, but I read them all after reading issue 3 of Volume 3, not monthly for two years. That makes a huge difference.
That being said, Ultimates v3, almost seems more like a crossover with X-Men now having Magneto and all those other brotherhood mutants. Not to mention my favorite, Wolverine.
I think in my head its not registering to be a "Ultimates" book, but more of an "Ultimate Universe" book.
I sort of feel that way about 616s New Avengers too since it has Spidey, Dr. Strange, and Wolverine, not to mention the Fantastic Four sometimes.

Yeah, they could do something to make the series better, like a better writer. What happened to Bryan Singer's supposed run anyway? HA HA HA HA! I forgot he was supposed to have a run on Ultimate X-Men eventually. Maybe it will come out right along when the rest of Ultimate Wolverine Hulk comes out.

Having Wolverine with Ultimates and the Spiderman cameo makes me think of this almost as Ultimate new Avengers, lol. Maybe that was Jeph's idea?
