Yeah I hope he exaggerated, or that it will be revamped. Its still one of my favorite titles.
The x-men/fantastic four annuals look interesting and sort of give us a hint about Ultimatum. I am hoping we'll see the future x-men/fantastic four and that should give us some ideas about how dies.
(Oh please keep Wolverine alive!!!!)

LOL, with his healing factor, he'd be the last one to die no doubt.

I hope so!! But depending on the story, they might make up a way. You know how fickle writers can be;)
Ok I just read 95 and liked it for the most part. It makes sense with Scott being undercover.
I am not really thrilled with somethings though. It showing up that Logan used it... I mean I am interested in how he would look on it, but its a drug... his healing factor should negate the effects. You can't just rewrite things like that or say since its a drug that especially effects mutants it will work on him, that doesn't fly.
I also think the writing is lacking a bit. I am still giving it the benefit of the doubt and realize this new guy has to get used to it himself and we have to get used to him, but it seems like a totally different group of mutants.

I think the suggestion is that is isn't so much that Logan used it, but that it came from himself which is why is showed up in Jean's tests. I thought that's what one of the summaries implied, that he wasn't a user.

Oh!!! That is a cool twist. I guess part of his mutation being enhanced senses, they somehow harness the enhancing part maybe. Hmm... well maybe that will be interesting then;)

This writer is making everyone on the team a druggie. Tell me Cyclops doesnt take the drug because that would just be stupid, he wouldnt do it. I havent read the issue, but did the drug come from Logan? Because thats what Im understanding from what you guys are saying.

I didn't make that connection until Squeek said it.
Yeah, I don't like that everyone on the team is turning into a willing druggie... well not everyone, really only those you see on the covers for now, but the way they go about it, and how Pete is written now, just feels weird. Some things just don't make sense. Maybe they will after the arc is over. We'll see.

I want to see how this arc will end, but at the same time I dont because Ultimatum is coming and it might be the end of Ultimate X-men!!! But Im still curious because now, like half of the team has willingly taken drugs, and one of them has been taking it as long as we can remember so without it he's probably obsolete.

Someone posted this at the Hype: "I just got this info from over at comicbookresources message board. It's a discussion about Ultimate stuff, Dave Finch is on there and he basically let's the cat out the bag. Supposedly Ultimatum= death of a whole lot of characters basically summed up as the end on the Ultimate Universe. Here's the link: youtube.com/watch?v=BH7FGnDEyfkThey really are hyping this thing to be "the end" of this universe but all I smell is a huge retooling and rebooting of the Ultimate Universe. I just hope that I like what I see after all is said and done." About 5 minutes in Finch pretty much says the the Ultimate line is going to end. I saw that, but to me, the whole thing in general didn't sound like he was serious. I know the fans have been spreading this rumor for a while, no idea how these things start. But to me he didn't sound like he was serious.

Something tells me he kind of was. He looked really nervous after saying it. Maybe he wasnt supposed to yet. But supposedly, the writer said that nly one line was going to be cancelled. So everyone's contradicting each other. But he also said A LOT of people are going to die and that he couldnt believe they were getting away with it. So even if they dont cancel the whole line or even part of it, the series will probably be changed forever.

That is a real shame, unless in the long run, it makes the Ultimate-verse better. It's a sad sad fact that Ultimates isn't what it was with Millar/Hitch and even the Ultimate Xs hasn't been as good as it was when it launched. It could use a little brightening.

Yeah, they could do something to make the series better, like a better writer. What happened to Bryan Singer's supposed run anyway?

Is Ultimates even being printed anymore? I read v3 up to issue 3 and then I can't seem to find anymore after that and its been a while!
I agree with Squeek that if it makes the Ultimate Universe better, than its worth it. I personally will be fine with anyones death EXCEPT Wolverines.

I really dont want ANYONE to die. Except maybe Syndicate or something . But yeah, if its for the best (which I seriously doubt) than I'll be ok with it after I read the issue.

Ultimates Vol 3 #4 just came out this week (hienously late), but I haven't read it yet. I plan to later today. This new series isn't close to the caliber of Millar/Hitch though I normally like Jeph Loeb. It's just been too different and it's jarring. It wasn't a smooth transition in story telling.
