I have that and am very happy with it. I lost a lot of my old comics due to nature and neglect. The dvd is awesome... 40 years all there on one disc!! Good stuff!

I love that DVD, if mainly for the fact that it's easier for me to hypersnap images from it than to scan my actual comics, lol.

Good for you.
I actually loved the TPB for Astonishing. I was actually thinking of cancelling my subscription just so I could get the TPBs but waiting for an issue is bad enough, waiting for the trades would be WAY too long a gap to fill!

Yeah, its hard to control oneself when you know the individual issue is out right now but you're not going to get it yet, you're going to wait months for all of them to get them together.

Ok, I just read #25.
I liked it.. it seemed fun. No action yet so not very exciting, but thats not bad. It was a good 1st issue.
BUT
One thing that irks be, is that in SOOO many various sources, including Marvel's database, Wolverine healing factor negates ALL poisons and toxins, including alcohol. But in this issue he says it how it doesn't. Whats worse in that little scene didn't even need to be in there, so it was sort of pointless.
I remember when Logan first lost his healing factor back in v2, after having the adamantium ripped from his body. He made a comment about how he had been drinking whisky and the healing factor fixing him right up and how he couldn't do it anymore. It had a point. There was a reason for that being said.
In 25 there was no reason and it went against so many other sources. I didn't like it. Of course, I didn't like it mainly cuz its my favorite character;)
I liked the Emma comments though.
I hope that they don't write Hisako as another Kitty when it comes to Emma though.
Storm being back is awesome!!
I loved the art!!! Logan looked too skinny though. The guy is packed with muscle, but Scott looked more muscular in this and Scotts supposed to be slim.
Beast looked GREAT though. And Emma... very sexy. Good stuff.
Over all good first issue.
I'm keeping this subscription.

How well Wolvie's healing factor handing booze tends very much to depend n the writer, lol. I am sure he can get buzzed, but it would take a lot.

Yeah writers take lots of liberties with that one, but its been clearly stated in several places that he is immune. Its not a big thing at all, I just dislike it.
The humor was pretty good though. I could tell if Emma was good heartedly joking or if she was in some way a disgusted by Logan. In the past its been shown the two to get along well with each other so that would be a bit strange, but could be fun in the future. Emma's more intelligent approach vs Logan's more down to earth approach.
Oh and man Scott annoys me... I hate the continual "This isn't the way the Professor did things" approach. Scott has done the same things as the professor because it needed to be done. X-Force is a team of killers for crying out loud! How can he still hold a grudge!? Dude needs to get over it already.
On thing I don't get, and I may have missed in another story was the mansion.. what happened to it? Why are they in San Fran now? I know the latest Legacy arc was taken place there, but did the mansion get destroyed or something? Why the move?

The two first trades of astonishing arrived today! I already read the first half of Gifted. I really like it up to now. The character dynamics and interactions among themselves are great! I really like this team. I hope the current writer is as good as this. And I like the art too

The Mansion got at least partly demolished at the end of Messiah Complex because a Sentinel fell on it.

Ah!! Thats right!! Seems so long ago! Thanks for helping me remember!
Jango, glad you enjoyed it. A lot of ppl didn't like Dangerous though, so be forewarned;) I didn't mind it so much... it was very "comic-booky".

Well, I finished the first one: it was awesome! And I bought the third trade also, so now I have two more trades to read, which is good . So are all the arcs a continuation of the same story? Ord and Danger and all that?
