It was a great issue. Bianchi is my favorite artist right now, poor Larrocca got bumped down a notch. I did note that this great story has been brought to us by writer Warren Ellis who I do like, but is well known for delays. I hope that doesn't happen here. I can't wait to see what comes next!

I was getting the New Universal series that he was writing and it got a little slow, but not bad. I mentioned it to my comic book seller and he made a face, saying Ellis was famous for that. I can only hope that that doesn't happen here. Although...heh.. it would just be business as usual for this title, lol.

Astonishing is also supposed to tie into the next X-Men cross over.
But Ellis has a lot of work ahead of him to make me care about this book. I don't see myself staying on much longer. Only character I care about is Emma in this and even then, the more clothes she wears the less I care.

LOL... Well I think Bianchi's Emma looks pretty nice, so that should keep you hooked for a little while;)
I like the team... in fact its the best team IMHO... if it had Storm and Nightcrawler I would be in heaven.
I like Gambit too, but think he is best when Rogue is in it, and feel another title is fine for them. But for the core team, the current Astonishing plus Storm and/or Nightcrawler would rock.

Gambit and Rogue will probably remain in Legacy for a while, tho I would love to see how Bianchi draws Gambit.

Hey guys, I gotta question. Ive never read any 616 universe comics (except for the Onslaught saga which I read once). And I was wondering if this would be a good place to start. It kind of seems like a fresh start for the team, after all thats happened, so maybe this is a good place to start for me as well.

It's a good place to start if you like the line up. Things have changed, Jean is gone and now you have Emma with Scott. You've got Hanry and Storm and Logan. So far though, the book is good and I am curious where it is going. You won't need to read the previous isues of Astonishing to jump on here.

Yup... this is a good book to start. 616 is really massive though, so there are a lot of back stories you may find yourself wanting to start reading, but you won't have to. I liked the first 24 Astonishing too, so if you can pick up the TPB on those and just continue monthly like you did with Ultimate X-Men, you will probably be ok. I don' t know if 25 starts fresh or picks up where the first 24 left off though. But with Armor in it, I would assume so.

A lot of the X-Titles are crossing over for the upcoming X-Event. But if you start with any one X-Title I recommend picking up the last two-three issues of Uncanny X-Men. Uncanny will always be the flag ship X-Title. Plus it's god two damn good writers and a really good artist.
