I think a lot of folks would enjoy a creative writing class. It's easy to daydream and think up something to jot down, at least it is for me. Maybe it's because I watch a lot of movies, I just see little scenes in my head and then build on those ideas.

Yeah. I can't imagine a creative writing class being any more difficult for them than a research paper based class. And since its the last of the writing courses they have, I don't have to worry about prepping them for the next course either.

True. They might find it a fun way to end their writing classes anyhow as well.

Yeah I typically try to make any final projects fun for the students so they leave the course feeling happy. I can't do that for every class though, but if I can I try. Maybe for a midterm I'll have them write comic books!! lol that way it would be fun for me!!

OMG!!! That would be awesome if one of my teachers did that!!! But then they'd have to be artistic and all that and maybe some wouldnt want to do that. I would love to do that for one of my classes though

Yeah I am sure some students would hate haven't to draw, but I would try to make that an option somehow. Like tell them they could do that or something else. I have to think of the something else. The point would be for the them to be creative, enjoy the project and ultimately...err.. hopefully... improve their writing!

Just came back from seeing Wanted. I am sure Mark Millar must laugh a bit to see his name on the writing credits seeing as how they left the comic behind after the first half hour or so, but the movie was still pretty good.

I remember in one of my English classes, my class had to create a children's book. With some kind of moral or something. And it had to have illustrations in it but they didnt necessarily have to be drawings and they could be done by someone else, except for the writing of course.

Yeah thats a good idea. I think I'll do something like that next time around. This first term here has been basically be getting used to the school and students. Next time around should be better because I have all these ideas now.

Yes, Wanted was good enough for a watch so long as you forget it ever came from a comic. I just read through the book and was surrpised at how good the book was and how much they cut out. Ah well. It's a decent enough action flick.

Personally I felt WANTED pulled a 300 and had the movie better then the book. I didn't expect much from the movie, but I loved it. Very good action, nice dialog, nice chemistry. I really enjoyed it. And my favorite seen from the book was still in the movie. (Best friend and girl friend on the table.)
